the box that daddy built...

Lateaf built the girls a sand box from a DIY project found on pinterest.  I showed him the idea and he ran with hit adding some of his own character:)  The blue tarp is there to protect us from the rain, which we have had slim to none of, but we're ready in case:)  Eventually we will put outdoor fabric over the top of it.  The girls love their very own sandbox!

Concert in the park

Last night we ventured out to our nearby park for a free concert in the park.  It was a beautiful night with a couple drops of rain.  I had a blast listening to the music and watching the girls run around in the grass.  At one point Liv went up to this much older boy who was pulling the grass out in clumps and throwing it up in the air.  Liv joined him.  Harper went over there too and then looked back at our reaction to see if this was ok.  We shook our heads no and at one point I looked at Teaf and said, "I mean it's not ok to pull the grass and throw it in the air right?"  He agreed. :) We then had Harper attempt to bring her sis back to us.  It was pretty cute watching her try to guide her sis away from the boy.  It was a success.  I especially enjoyed the people watching.  There was this couple (in their 60's) who got up and danced a few songs.  It was really sweet to watch.

Shay & Jay

Cousin Eric married Emily a couple weekends ago at the Durham Museum.  It was a beautiful wedding and a lot of fun.  I didn't take many pictures and didn't even get one of the bride and groom.  The girls had a BLAST dancing the night away.  They were dancing until like 11pm. -LATE-  Liv was all over the place dancing while raising the roof.  Harper too was a dancin machine and was even trying to break dance.  Yay for wedding season:)

Water Spouts...

It's that time of year again where you can only stand to be outside if you are near water.  The water spouts down the street are always a nice place to cool off.  Between there, the lake weekends, and the "splash pad" we are staying cool with 100 degree weather.  The farmers on the other hand are in a bad way because not only has it been extremely hot but we haven't had any rain.  It rained the other night for a short bit and it felt AMAZING.  The smell was refreshing and I was doing a little rain dance in hopes for more of it.  No luck sense:(

A girl and her best friend...

Harper is over the moon about her best friend.  She talks about him ALL the time.  When she experiences something new, such as the splash pad here in Omaha for, she says "We will have to call Derek and have Ryder come here so I can show him all about it."  Almost everyday she mentions going to his house, having him come to our house, or going somewhere together.  We live 60 miles apart so this task isn't an easy thing each week.  We often spend our time at the lake together where they run, jump, yell, swim, and play there little hearts out.  She has been asking lately to wear a pair of his jammies to bed.  She also wants to wear only shorts and a t-shirt just like him.  Last night she was all teary eyed because she couldn't go to Canada with Ryder to visit his grandparents in a couple weeks.  WHOA..thats deep.  Soon enough when Asher gets bigger, Liv and Asher will be best of friends too.  The girls sure do love those Reynolds boys;)

What amazing pictures from an amazing day.  Susan & Taura Horn (Taura Horn Photography) photographed these beautiful pictures as their gift to the bride and groom.  Susan was a colleague of David's before she retired.  They also had a main photographer so there will be more pictures to share:)  Kate and David wed at Kate's parents house in Grand Island, Ne on a beautiful Friday evening.  Everyday that week leading up to the big day we were checking items off a detailed list thanks to Kate's Aunt Patti.  We tied up all the loose ends such as rolling napkins, hanging lights, gluing programs, etc.  It's crazy all the things that you don't think about as a guest of such event.  All the hard work paid off that Friday night.  The girls were the flower girls and Kate's nephew Xavier was the ring bearer.  Shannon & David's brother Reed stood up for them.  Everything went off without a hitch or at least the guests didn't know about it;)  Like they didn't know that just before they were all supposed to walk out the door (like seconds) to the ceremony Liv had a MAJOR meltdown crying.  Why you ask?  I took her chip away.  Once the chip was back in her hand, she stopped crying and I wiped the tears away sending her out the door to throw flowers.  That's right, she stood up in the wedding with a flower girl basket in one hand eating a chip in the other.  The ceremony was beautiful and perfect in every way.  We had an fabulous dinner under the big tent on the tennis court in their backyard and then danced our bums off all night.  Harper LOVED dancing with all the bigger kiddos and Liv snoozed during the reception after a long day with no nap.  We had a great day/evening!  Congratulations to two beautiful and amazing people.  We are so excited that you have each other and that we have you both in our lives.
