This month has just flown by in front of my eyes.  We have done a lot of things this month but I can't seem to get a handle on documenting everything:)  We started going out to the lake again and went the past couple weekends.  We (all of us) love going out there.  We planted our garden and "tend" to it, fish, and play our hearts out.  The majority of our summer weekends are spent out there and it is perfect.  We are away from technology and everyday life demands.  We have the opportunity to just be together amongst the beauty of the land & water.  The best part about it for me is watching the girls play in a "free" environment where their imagination is stimulated and life lessons are learned from family.  Love it!    

Preschool Field Trip

I joined Harper's class for their field trip to the zoo a couple weeks ago.  I opted not to ride the bus for two reasons.  1. I jetted to work right after the trip & 2.  Have you rode on a school bus lately?  It is a bumpy make you wanna puke ride.  I don't ever remember school bus trips making me feel sick.  Guess thats a sign of getting old or something.  Harper loved hanging out with her friends that are boys.  She partnered up with her buddy Richmond (& his mom) and then we were in charge of two other boys.  Our class stayed together for the most part.  The other class split up which I thought kinda defeated the purpose of taking a class trip together.  Anyways, our class had a blast at the aquarium, gorillas, and tigers.  It was lunch time for all the tigers so we were ever so lucky to see them being fed bunnies for lunch- GROSS!  It's kinda funny that she has no interest in hanging with the girls in her school.  She would much rather run with the boys.  She's our little tomboy thats for sure.

I took the girls and their buddy Ryder to the children's theater to see the last show of the season a couple weekends ago.  This was Ryder's first time at "our" theater and the girls were ultra excited to have him along.  The kids had a great time watching the show and hanging all over each other;)

We got the girls a bunk bed about a month ago off of Craigslist.  My dad was on top of checking Craigslist daily and his daily determination paid off.  I had it set in my mind that I wanted a staircase and I'm so glad he found one second hand.  They absolutely love their bed.  The day they got it, they were freaking out with excitement.  Harper sleeps on top and Liv on bottom.  Another sign they are growing up:)  Thanks to the g-rents for always taking care of all of us!  An extra thank you to my dad for continuing to hunt for the perfect bed and for helping set it up.  We are blessed!   

5 year anniversary

Today marks the day that I have been blogging for 5 years.  WOW! That seems like a long time and a lot of words and pictures documenting parts of our life.  I can honestly say that this has blog has been my sound board where I am able to reflect on my life.  Even when I am unable to keep up or document fully what is always going on, I find that this is where I dedicate my time to embracing the now and seeing the beauty amongst all the chaos.  I do not mean chaos in a negative way per say I just mean that this life is both brutal and beautiful at the same time.  It is brutiful as one of my fellow mommy bloggers says.  I am so incredibly blessed with my family, friends, and a husband who steps in when I fall short and who loves and cherishes all three of us.  These past 5 years have been a wild ride and I know it will keep getting brutifully better. 

4.20.13- Earth Day Celebration

A park down the street from us has an earth day celebration every year.  We usually miss it because we are out of town. We decided to walk on over and check it out.  Minutes when arriving one of Livia's classmates came over and hugged her.  She and her mom joined us as we walked around, ate lunch, and danced to the band.  The weather was a bit crummy but we still enjoyed ourselves.

My Liv jade is one stubborn girl:)  For the longest time she has chosen not to learn to "peddle" her bike and would rather ride on a different toy that doesn't require that action.  One weekend awhile back we all headed to Shannon & Jason's house for dinner.  I decided to go over via bike & bike trail from my parents house and invited Harper to come with me.  Teaf joined us too!   The 3 of us set out on the trek.  Of course Liv was bummed she couldn't come with us on the bikes and instead had to ride in the car with grandma. I told her that she needed to learn how to peddle her bike first and then she would be able to come along.  The VERY NEXT DAY, she jumped on her bike and peddled away.  She was so proud of herself.  (as was I:)

In April Grandma came to Omaha and we headed to Lily's Plastic Purple Purse play at the children's theater.  The girls were super excited about this one because they have read the book many times in the past.  It's always a great time with grandma and this was no different.  After the play we headed back to Lincoln to spend the weekend there.   Thanks to the g-rent Dorseys for the year membership so we were able to give these experiences to the girls.

Grandma Dorsey's (my mom) birthday fell on Easter this year.  We had an amazing celebration in Lincoln at their house.  Grandma Cindy, Grandpa Frank, Great Grandma Shirley (Frank's mom), Kate, David, Shannon & Jason all joined in on the festivities.  We had a great meal, birthday cake, Easter egg hunt, and a fun time playing outside in the beautiful weather.  The girls were so excited the Easter bunny came and were most excited with their outdoor toys the bunnies (the grandmas) brought!  I know that I am blessed to have these amazing people in my life but on that day I was even more grateful for the girls to have all these beautiful people around them.   My cup is overflowing with love; love wins!
