Sledding 2013

 

These pictures put a huge smile on my face.  We had an amazing time sledding the other weekend.  The weather was perfect, the neighbor elementary hill (that I grew up sledding on) was empty, and we ALL had a blast doing this simple activity.  Who knew sledding was so much fun even as an adult?!  The g-rents bought sleds awhile back in preparation for the perfect day, and perfect it was!!!  "The good life," that's where I'm at, and good is an understatement:)

1st time at the movie theater...

We were home in Omaha the other weekend so  I checked amoms website and saw free movies for families at one of our local theaters up the street.  They were showing Madagascar 3.  We haven't really advanced to "big girl" movies yet but we decided to try it out anyway.  If nothing else it's free so we can leave if it gets too scary or too long.  We grabbed some popcorn and slushies and enjoyed an hour of the experience.  The theater was packed with kids and families.  Liv LOVED the popcorn and nearly ate the entire bag.  With the credits being so long they started to get antsy at the one hour mark.  There was also a scary animal control lady that Harper wasn't a fan of and so she ended up in my lap toward the end.  We decided to duck out early but had a great time while it lasted!

At the beginning of January Aunt Patti, the girls, and I went to the very last day of the poinsettia display at the gardens.  It is absolutely beautiful!  They set up their trains (that they usually have outside) around the beautiful poinsettias and holiday decor.  There is a small little kiddie train ride the girls went on too.  We had lunch and soaked in the last bit of holiday cheer for the season.  Thanks to Aunt Patti  for giving us this experience!  We love it!

Our super hero princess...

Livia is definitely our girlie girl of the family.  She loves babies, princess crowns, and pink.  She loves super heroes only because her sister is a huge fan.  I had to get video of her wearing her fairy wings, princess crown, pink plastic shoes in her Spider-man pajamas.  Too cute!

and then there is the super hero of all super heroes.  This girl loves the Avengers and her favorite is Spider-man.  She keeps saying she wants to be like Peter Parker:)  Her favorite colors are red, blue, and green.  She adamantly does not like pink and purple.  Her recent kick is she wants to get her hair cut short like a little boy in her class.  I asked her how short and she says "like Eli."  I drop the subject in hopes she does too.  About 10 minutes later she comes back and says "so you need to call Kelly (her hairdresser) to make an appointment so she can cut my hair short" NOT GONNA HAPPEN sister and all scissors are on lock down at our camp!  :)

Our 1st pets

We got our first pet fish a few months ago.  Harper named them blueberry & cherry.  One "was" red & the other "is" blue.  Cherry went swimming in the pipes during one of the water changes so we are now down to one fish:)  The girls were very concerned about where Cherry went and immediately noticed he & his tank were gone.  Thankfully it was an easy explanation of him going to swim in the big pond:)

Between X-mas & New Years the girls stayed at the g-rents while Teaf and I came home to work.  When we all returned to Omaha on January 1st we opened the last of presents from Santa who stopped by our Omaha house.  The girls were so excited about there trinkety items and especially love their Avengers table.  We had a busy holiday season and continue to be grateful for all of our family and friends!

New Years Eve day we spent the day at the g-rents just hanging about.  The Reynold boys and Sonja came over for a bit to play.  The girls had a blast hanging with their best pals.  We visited Cade at the hospital, enjoyed a nice dinner, and rang in the New Year together as a family.  We have so much to thankful for this past year and look forward to another year full of life, love, and happiness!!!

Dorsey tradition is to celebrate Christmas all together at my cousin Mike & Dori's house the weekend before New Year's Eve. (December 30th this year)  This year did not disappoint as we had a great time hanging with our family.  We were definitely missing a few people but were thankful for those who were able to attend!  As always we ate great food, listened to a fantastic "program" put on by my grandma, sang the 12 days of Christmas, exchanged gifts, and hung out all day.  The girls were so into doing their part in the program, listening to Granny's story, and singing the 12 days of X-mas song.  They took there own sheet and had their own part in the song:)  They knocked it out of the park!!!  A beautiful day spent with our beautiful family!
