4th photos...

On the 4th while you and daddy were napping, me and your aunts and uncles (Shay, Kate, Jay, & Mikey) went out and shot guns. (a semi-automatic rifle & a hand gun) I know nothing about guns but to my suprise it was a really fun time. It was exciting to try and hit the target. Your aunt Shannon hit the explosive target on the first shot. She was titled Bonnie from Bonnie & Clyde:) Nothing like shooting some guns on Independence day:)

Summer Days

Harper dear,
You have had quite the adventures lately. Your aunties on your dad's side, (Kaylee, Dee-Dee, & their friend Nicole) came to KC to hang out with you for a whole week. We went to a nearby swimming pool one day while they were here. This was your first experience at a pool. At first you weren't too sure but once you warmed up, you were a happy Harper:)... You then went to Nebraska with mommy so I could attend my 10 year H.S. reunion. You stayed in Nebraska with your Grandma & Grandpa Dorsey (while mommy and daddy worked) to then go to the lake for the fourth of July holiday weekend where we then met up with you. We had a great 4th weekend which entailed boating, swimming, and watching fire works. I was a bit worried that you wouldn't be a fan of the loud noises that come along with fireworks, but you suprised me. The loud noises made you jump at times but you never cried. You simply looked around at the bright lights with those curious eyes. Grandpa D even bought you your own fireworks and lit them off for you. Well kid, I must say you have put some miles in the car seat and continue to be a great traveler. We are having such a blast this summer enjoying family and friends. We are also enjoying all the new things you are learning each and everyday. My favorite thing right now is you giving kisses which you do with your mouth wide open. It's too cute... Each day is a new day and I love you Harper Sage, each and everyday!

28 is still great...

28 is GREAT!!!

I turned 28 this year! What a GREAT year. So many things to be grateful for! I am blessed. This year on my birthday we had a grill out at your grandparents house. You were awake for a bit of it and then snoozed the night away while your mommy and daddy ate beer butt chicken, opened presents, drank wine, chatted lots, and watched auntie Amy do tricks:). I'm acutally surprised she didn't bust out the only card trick she knows. The next morning (Saturday) we geared up to spend the day at the lake amongst family and friends. It was your first experience on a boat and in the lake. Grandma D is a stickler about having your life jacket on at ALL times and you were pretty unsure about it. You looked like the kid in the Christmas Story, all buldged up with no where to go. Grandma D finally let her guard down and let you flow freely around the boat while it was anchored down. You were much more relaxed without it. We attempted to put you in your floaty tube with your life jacket on and you didn't like it at all. I think it was a combination of the cold water and the uncomfortableness of the jacket in the tube. I think the tube is more fitting for the pool. We had a great day boating, jet skiing, and soaking up the Nebraska sun. It was perfect weather to make for a perfect day. You turned in early with the rents while your aunties, daddy, and me stayed late night fishing. On Sunday we spent the day visiting more grandparents on your daddy's side and your surrogate grandparents(Linda & Bruce). You are quite the trooper and continue to be loved by SO many people.
All I have to say is "28 is GREAT!"

Our friends Kylie and Owen (Owen who was due the same day you were but came on time and you came late:) had lunch on June 1 and then went to the fountains and park on the Plaza to stroll around and take some photos. Kylie recently got a awesome camera that takes great photos and she is quite the photographer! We had a fun day talking about you two babies and enjoying the beautiful weather! It's nice to have a friend to share stories, trials and tribulations, excitements, etc. and especially since they are the same age! About half way through the photo shoot you were a bit over it and had to take a milk break. After that you were right back in it. You have some funny faces these days.
